In this video lecture we discuss practical things about how different angles of view are produced by the same camera sensor, which can switch to various resolutions. We show how such angles of view and pixel sizes can be calculated. We then explain the variety of C, CS and S lens mounting standards and the meaning behind the lens projection circles. Last, but not least we introduce the pixel density metrics and what it means, illustrated by three different case studies.
Vlado Damjanovski is an internationally renowned CCTV expert, published author, trainer and App developer with over 37 years industry experience.
With an Honours degree in Electronic Engineering, Vlado authored the industry’s ‘CCTV bible’, CCTV - from light to pixels (4th ed), also available in Korean, Russian and German. The ViDi Labs Academy video lectures are based on these books.
Vlado has been producing industry specific test charts for over twenty-five years and offers a complete IP camera evaluation and measurement service compliant with the IEC standards. His recent work has been the development of software for automated camera analysis to suit the latest ViDi Labs test chart.
Furthermore, Vlado has developed unique App - ViDiLabs calculator - which is available for installers, integrators and consultants to assist in finding optimal camera settings (for iOS and Android).
Vlado has helped develop the Australian and New Zealand CCTV Standards (AS4806) in his capacity as chief contributor. He is currently a member of the IEC TC-79 group where he contributes towards the development of the international standards 62676 for IP CCTV.
