History of TV and basic concepts

The history of Television, analogue standards (PAL, NTSC, SECAM), basic concepts, measuring instruments

   Watch Promo

This video lecture goes through the history of Television, then it discusses the various analogue standards, the PAL, NTSC and SECAM. Although most of these are now obsolete for many when installing new systems, I considered that it is important to understand the basics, so that we can progress later in digital IP CCTV. We also cover the oscilloscope and vectorscope measuring instruments, and we finish with the BERT (Bit Error Rate) "Eye" measurement of digital signals.
